NOTES FOR SERVING INSIDE FACILITIES

  • Modest dress attire

  • Only come with car keys and ID (absolutely no phones)

  • Hats worn forward only

  • Long pants (No leggings)

  • Closed toe shoes

Service Team

DOC Volunteer approval requirement

    • Projector, computer, screen and sound system ready

    • Pray over every chair

    • Align seating properly

    • Clean up any left over paper/books

    • Greet each offender at the entry

    • Check in each offender from movement letter

    • Invite each offender to a bible and prayer request form

    • Play previous weekend's Sunday message

    • Go Team member close in reflection/prayer

    • Replace any misplaced seats

    • Lock everything and turn off all lights

    • Clean up any left behind items

FORMAT

Small Group Team

DOC Volunteer approval requirement

    • Sound and computer (w/ CD ready)

    • Pray over every chair

    • Align seating properly

    • Clean any leftover paper/books

    • Greet each offender at the entry

    • Check in each offender from movement letter

    • Invite each offender to a Bible and prayer request form

    • About 40 minutes teaching

    • Break into small groups and discuss discussion questions

    • Volunteers encouraged to join a group but allow offenders to lead

    • Invite offender to close in prayer

    • Replace any misplaced seats

    • Lock everything and turn off all lights

    • Clean up any left behind items

FORMAT

Inmate Fellowship Team

DOC Volunteer approval requirement

INCLUDES:

  • Fellowship time with offenders in their dormitories

  • Flexible programming

  • Buddy system throughout

  • Invite to corporate service (hand out invite cards)

  • Sign up offenders to movement letter

Letters of Hope Team

DOC Volunteer approval requirement

    • Responsible for written words of encouragement to our inmate family

    • One way communication

    • Respond to prayer requests

  • Do not seal or stamp the envelope. ITown will be responsible for delivering the

    letters

    ○ Use plain white paper

    ○ Use black or blue ink

    ○ Handwritten letters only

    • No enclosures of any kind are allowed

    • No personal contact information should ever be shared (Including your name)

    • Signature - "Your ITOWN Church Family" or "Your Church Family"

  • Encourage, Scripture, Prayer, Next Steps

    • Encourage the offenders, include scripture, write out a prayer for them, encourage them to take next steps in faith

  • Return all letters to ITOWN Church campus.
