RUN WEEK

HomeRUN WEEK

JULY 24-30th

Welcome to your Run Week How-To Guide. On this page you will learn the heart behind Circles
Run Week projects, learn how to identify needs in your community, and how to plan and
execute a project.

WHY RUN WEEK?

Run Week gives our church a unique opportunity to flood our city with the love of God. For one
week every year our church hosts service projects all day every day and we see God move in
miraculous ways. Whether you are packing meals, writing cards, passing out food or praying for
the lost, there is a way for everyone in our church to serve others and share the good news.

Every individual has their sphere of influence: your neighbors, cousins, and friends from work. As a Circle Leader, you not only have your sphere of influence, but everyone in your Circle has one as well. The amount of needs represented in your Circle is probably more than you would guess. We believe God has equipped you to see a need and fill the need.

The goal of Run Week projects is to find the needs of people in your community and come together to meet those needs. Some examples of this are a single mom who doesn’t have time to mow her grass, an elderly couple that needs help cleaning out their garage, a struggling family that could use a home-cooked meal, etc.

HOW TO PLAN YOUR RUN WEEK PROJECT

STEP ONE: BRAINSTORM

As a group, discuss everyone’s sphere of influence. Does anyone know someone in need? If not, encourage your group members to spend some time talking to others to learn about the needs around them.

STEP TWO: DECIDE ON A PROJECT

Come back together and discuss the needs your group has found. What matches the heartbeat of your circle, what is feasible for your group to accomplish? Once you have decided, coordinate with the person you will be helping to find the best date and time for the project and gather all needed information.

STEP FOUR: PREPARE

Talk with your group about what is needed to accomplish your project, if supplies are needed write out and list and talk through who will bring what. Make sure the person you are planning to serve is ready for you to arrive!

No, registering a Run Week project is not required to be a circle leader.

Yes! If you have found more than one need within your circle, feel free to register as many projects as your circle would like.

Since the goal of these projects is to go out and serve your community, we ask that no projects take place at the church.

No! If your group has identified someone in need, whether an ITOWN church member or someone who has never stepped foot in a church, you are welcome to serve them.

The ITOWN Missions team will be offering large and small scale projects with many different ministries throughout Run Week that you can participate in. For your circle project, we ask that you serve an individual and not an organization.

Yes! Inviting others to be involved in this project is a great way to show others the love of Christ and might get them to say yes to an invite to church!
